The DEI (Daily Economic Index) remained in negative territory in July an early August. Current average data points to 3QtD: -1.6%; after 2Q23: +2.4%YoY and INE’s preliminary data +2.3%.

Portugal – 2Q23 wages increased on average 6.9%YoY; above inflation
As expected, the pace of wage increases, accelerated over the 2Q23 and overcame inflation. Nevertheless, the peak was, probably, already reached, so we expect smaller increases in the coming months, even so above inflation.
