March’s budget execution, surplus of €2.6Bn vs. a deficit of €390Mn one year ago, strongly benefitted from a non-recurrent transfer; €3.02Bn; CGD’s pension fund. Excluding this extraordinary item, that does not account in terms of budget execution.

Summing up, the Euro Area ESI is apparently consolidating and the same seems true regarding Portugal, even that Industry is underperforming. Nevertheless, the visibility is low and is still unclear the impact from higher interest rates.
