IMGA JOINS UNITED NATIONS GLOBAL COMPACT

IM Gestão de Ativos - SGOIC, SA (IMGA) is, since February 2021, a participant in the United Nations Global Compact, committing itself to align its strategy in order to adopt and promote in its culture and daily activity the UN Global Compact 10 Principles on human rights, labor practices, environmental protection and the fight against corruption.

IMGA is also committed to contributing to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined in the UN Agenda 2030 and intends to increase and improve the transparency and communication of these themes, with the dissemination of the actions carried out and the evaluation of the impacts generated, through the annual publication of progress reports (COP).

For IMGA's CEO, Emanuel Silva, this adhesion “is an important step in the Company's responsible investment strategy, seeking, through participation and sharing of experiences, to align our performance with the best international practices in matters of social, environmental and economic responsibility and contribute to a more sustainable future”.

Global Compact is a United Nations worldwide initiative in the area of ​​corporate sustainability that aims to promote the public and voluntary commitment of companies to comply with universally accepted principles and sustainability objectives, having been created in 2000 by the proposal of the then Secretary-General , Kofi Annan.

Currently, the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, is Chair of the Board of the UN Global Compact, which has more than 12,000 companies present in more than 160 countries, organised in 69 local networks.

The Global Compact Network Portugal is the network of subscribers to this initiative with headquarters or operations in Portugal, currently having 91 participants.
